Harborview Council updates Riverside Bridge schedule

Harborview Council has moved the planned reopening of Riverside Bridge from August 14 to September 3, 2026. The council said additional reinforcement work was identified during a scheduled inspection of the east support structure.

The pedestrian route on the north side will remain open between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Cyclists must dismount while crossing. Vehicle traffic will continue to use the marked diversion through Alder Street and Port Avenue.

“The revised schedule gives the engineering team time to complete the reinforcement and document the final inspection,” said fictional project coordinator Lena Brooks.
